New map "Canyon" revealed

http://www.zinio.com/cover?is=189539973&img=l&ns=z...

Games For Windows has a 3 page article about a map (currently) called "Canyon". It shows two new screenshots, one which stretches nearly over 2 pages and which shows a large area of the map and an oppressor who is doing a violator beam on it. The article describes the map in short and has another small screenshot which shows two bumblebees and one anansi flying over Canyon. Something that's not so funny is that it says Summer as release date. @SD: gief b3tah!!!

If I remember correctly Canyon was already mentioned about a year ago in some interviews. AFAIK it's the map from the E3 2005 trailer where the EDF (heehee) need to build a bridge and get the MCP over it.

Anyway, brilliant find Joe999, thanks...

yeah, i thought as well that it's the one from the 2005 trailer with a minor change: it looks a bit reddish.

anyway, did anyone get info about that "summer" release? so it definitely won't come before july?

to release date: game release calendar of Activision ( http://investor.activision.com/games.cfm ) says, that ETQW will be released in winter/spring 2007. yes, i know it was once changed there, but i think publisher should know more about it :).

from what i've seen atvi isn't eager in changing webcontent when it comes to quake wars, i bet it'll change when they have their next quarterly meeting

added:
correction, looks like they're currently changing the errors on the german QW website as i reported them

Talk about an underwhelming article. It's strangely written, there's nothing new, and the guy is pretty cryptic. Also, the screenshots don't show much (if at all).
