Obviously the security code(s) is being given to the selected individuals - it's called "a closed Beta program" for a reason...

Well, we don't know for how long that page had been up already. The background image with the "Beta" word in it was modified on 24 Oct, so the page is probably there for almost a month...

Beta will come 27.11 ;)

Just to say something many people might already have noticed due to the script name - that directory contains a WordPress installation, that is, a blog system. So it's possible to get some of the content even if the index redirects to another 'not found' page.

For example, the list of feeds is here:

And as RSS:
http://www.enemyterritory.com/betatest/wp-rss2.php

It only contains one post, which says "We are currently undergoing maintenance, please don't attempt to play Enemy Territory during this time." (Well, okey?).

The title of the blog is also "The closed beta test program for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars", so it'll be indeed a closed beta and bot a public one (like rtcw test), at least not yet.

IMO it's a good idea to do that with a blog, but I wonder how are they gonna make it privative (as in not public).

The /betatest/ page might have been only available or meant for those who already are beta testers. That was the spot they used to log in and get updates or report back and give feedback. It was an accident that this page was found and the "come back on Monday" message was aimed at those beta testers only. Not for new ones. Notice that there really is or was a system maintenance since November 19th (We are currently undergoing maintenance, please don't attempt to play Enemy Territory during this time).

Besides that, recently it was said several times by the guys from Splash Damage that if a widely available beta, limited or not, was about to happen they will let us know. Earlier, not the moment it happens.

I'm just speculating here, don't have any solid proof or confirmation on what I just wrote.
