I am VERY excited...

there will proabably be a closed beta within a week or so.

so what i'm guessing is that we'll se some keys being distrubuted soon :)

we need open beta demo badly ! :D

I'm "guessing" it's still very far away. So "probably" I'm right.

When Quake Wars was delayed form "Fall 2006" didn't the say it would be released in the first quarter of 2007? It seems the game has been playable since Quakecon, and they've been working on game balancing ever since. So if there is a beta, closed/secret or whatever surley it's a sign that the full game isn't that far away. Here's hoping!

I'm pretty sure only Activision posted Q1 2007 (which was probably fiscal year) on their games calendar. There wasn't an official announcement on a new date afaik.

Also, they have been working on many things besides balancing since QuakeCon. New models/skins (see latest screenshots), new visual effects (see nVIDIA video), new/more maps not shown to the public yet and probably a lot more.

Again, the betapage is for Visioneers only for now, doubt it's an indication of a public closed or open beta this year. Well, but what do I know anyway...

activision didn't post Q1 2007 afaik, they only posted winter/spring 2007. i dunno myself where all that march 2007 dates derive from. as many of you i'm pretty well informed when it comes to quake wars, i've never seen anyone who has to say something say the game will come out in march. all i've heard was a rumor from games convention that the beta will start in january, game will be released in march. nothing's written in stone though.

And the beta page goes away again...
